Choir

Katie John joined the school choir this year! She has a whole schedule of events they will be singing at this holiday season starting with the school craft fair this Saturday. Katie John will also be singing in the Nativity Festival at our stake center Dec. 17th.

"I really like singing in the choir and it's really fun. I like to sing all the songs they are very enjoyable. I also get to practice at home which is fun." ~ Katie John

She gives up her lunch recess on Wednesday's each week to go to choir practice. She really likes her music teacher and looks forward to all the performances this year. I'll keep updating as her performances progress... with pictures!

Soccer Wrap-Up

Jonah's soccer season has finally come to an end. This season Jonah played left defender as well as left forward. He even scored a goal this year! The Doom ended their season 6-4, which is pretty good for the youngest U-12 team in the league. We had quite a few boys playing "up" this year. We started the season with nice weather, graduated to rainy weather and ended with.... well... more cold rainy weather. Playing or cheering in the rain takes a lot more effort for sure! For now, next year will be Jonah's last soccer year, we'll see how things go. Also next year John will probably be an assistant coach for the Doom. He is pretty excited for that. Jonah's coach made a speech about each player at the end of season party. This is what he had to say about Jonah:

Tonight's pack meeting was a pretty awarding night for the Matthews family. Jonah was presented with six webelo activity pins. He had been working really hard to get all those done. Also he's been working hard on the BSA 100-year Anniversary Patch. There are five categories: leadership, character, achievement, outdoors and service. He had to complete three requirements in each category. This patch can only be earned this year and will transfer to his BSA uniform when he crosses over. Congratulations to Jonah for working so hard!

Funny enough the 100-year patch can also be earned by the leaders, which I was unaware of until tonight when I earned it for myself! All this time I'd been helping my little wolf boys earn their patches and earning it for myself as well.

A Butterfly Princess

Keira decided to dress up and put on a "pic pic" for her animal friends. A "pic pic" for those of you that don't know is a picnic. I made her a lunch and she lined up all her friends and had a great time.
